1. Material Composition:
   • Chromium: 8.00% - 10.00%
   • Molybdenum: 0.90% - 1.10%
   • Carbon: Max 0.15%
   • Manganese: 0.30% - 0.60%
   • Phosphorus: Max 0.025%
   • Sulfur: Max 0.025%
   • Silicon: 0.25% - 1.00%.
2. Mechanical Properties:
   • Tensile Strength: Minimum 415 MPa
   • Yield Strength: Minimum 205 MPa
   • Elongation: Minimum 30% (longitudinal) and 20% (transverse) for thicker walls.
3. Heat Treatment:
   • The pipes are typically normalized and tempered to achieve the required mechanical properties. The tempering temperature is around 675°C (1250°F).
4. Size and Schedule:
   • The 10" Sch40 pipe is a standard size in the ASTM A335 P9 specification. The schedule (Sch40) indicates the wall thickness, which is suitable for high-pressure applications.
